The Ashford Cinema: Terms & Conditions

The Ashford Cinema Limited is the trading name of Ashford Cinema Ltd. The registered address of the Ashford Cinema Ltd. is Civic Centre, Tannery Lane, Ashford, United Kingdom, TN23 1PL. Ashford Cinema Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15473154. Ashford Cinema Ltd. is referred to as “we”, “us” and “our” in these terms & conditions (the “T&Cs”).

AAA Membership

These T&Cs refer to The Ashford Cinema AAA Membership (the “AAA Membership”).

Please read and retain a copy of the below T&Cs carefully as, by holding a AAA Membership, these apply to you.

The AAA membership is available to customers over the age of 18 years old.

The Ashford Cinema is entitled to request proof of your age, identity and/or residence to confirm compliance with these T&Cs and any legal, licensing or regulatory requirements.

To become an AAA member, you must pay a monthly membership fee. When you sign up to an AAA Membership, you agree:

As an AAA Member, you will be issued with an AAA Membership Account. Your AAA Membership Account:
  • Is to be presented at point of purchase at each of your visits to The Ashford Cinema using your The Ashford Cinema AAA Membership card or QR code from your The Ashford Cinema online account, or your account is to be logged into The Ashford Cinema’s website to redeem your benefits online. Registration to The Ashford Cinema’s website will be required.
  • May only be used at The Ashford Cinema.
  • Gives you the right to enjoy the benefits of your AAA Membership on a personal and non-transferable basis and always in accordance with these T&Cs, subject to availability, age restriction, private hires of The Ashford Cinema, Terms of Admission and/or any relevant promotion terms applicable from time to time.
  • Is to be used on its own and cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions or memberships offered by The Ashford Cinema unless otherwise indicated.
  • Is personal and cannot be assigned or transferred or exchanged or sold to anyone else.
As an AAA Member, you are entitled to:
  • One ticket per film screening (subject to availability) for any film screening open to the general public. The ticket can be booked for all 2D and 3D films (excluding 3D glasses), including Parent & Baby, Cinemini, Sensory Screenings & Silver Screenings. A surcharge will be added to event cinema tickets.
  • 10% off all food & drink served at The Ashford Cinema.
  • No online booking fee for the AAA member ticket.
Memberships and their associated benefits last for 12 full calendar months from the date of original purchase. Your membership will automatically renew after this period.

You have a statutory right to change your mind and cancel your membership within 14 days of your first monthly payment. To cancel, you will need to contact info@theashfordcinema.co.uk with your full name and email address. You will receive a full refund of any fee paid, provided that your AAA membership has not been used to access any cinema screenings, or to utilise any other benefits, discounts or offers. 

The Ashford Cinema reserves the right to withdraw your AAA Membership if, in our reasonable opinion, you:
  • miss any fee payment. You will not be entitled to book a cinema ticket using your AAA membership until payment has been received and your account may be suspended entirely if more than one payment is late
  • have used your AAA Membership or membership account fraudulently, abusively or unlawfully;
  • have caused material behavioural issues;
  • have failed to comply with your obligation to keep your security information secure;
  • have seriously breached these T&Cs;
  • have been banned on reasonable grounds from entering The Ashford Cinema.
The withdrawal of your AAA Membership for the above reasons means that you will not be able to use it thereafter and it will not give rise to any form of compensation or refund to you.

All copyright, trademarks and all other intellectual property rights in and in relation to The Ashford Cinema’s AAA Membership shall at all times remain the property of The Ashford Cinema or its underlying rights holders.

The Ashford Cinema will process your personal data in order to open, administer and run your account, provide the Legacy Membership benefits to you and deal with any enquiry you may have about it. The Ashford Cinema will be the data controller of the personal data it holds in connection with your AAA Membership. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information.

The Ashford Cinema reserves the right to discontinue the membership offer at any time. We may close or suspend The Ashford Cinema AAA Membership at any time and for any reason on not less than 30 days' notice in writing to you and/or by posting a notice on our website.
Except where expressly provided, nothing in these T&Cs shall constitute a warranty or representation regarding any aspect of our channels or products and/or services provided by us.

Where erroneous pricing information has been given to you, and the error is obvious and could have been recognised by you as erroneous, we will not be obliged to supply goods and services at the erroneous price. We shall not be liable to you for any special, indirect or consequential losses incurred by you in any way. Neither shall The Ashford Cinema be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of its obligations under these T&Cs that are caused by events outside our reasonable control. The Ashford Cinema’s total liability for all claims shall not exceed the amount of the original membership fee. Nothing shall be construed as to exclude or limit The Ashford Cinema’s liability for death or personal injury caused by The Ashford Cinema’s negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation committed by The Ashford Cinema or its agents, or for any other liability which may not be excluded or limited by law.
The Ashford Cinema reserves the right to add or amend these T&Cs from time to time, at its discretion. Changes will take effect as soon as they are posted on The Ashford Cinema’s website. You agree to be bound by the updated version of the T&Cs as soon as you access, use or register on The Ashford Cinema’s channels.

The Ashford Cinema Legacy Membership

These T&Cs refer to The Ashford Cinema Legacy Membership (the “Legacy Membership”).

This membership is only available for customers who held a valid Picturehouse Standard Membership, Membership Plus or Student Membership with Picturehouse Ashford registered in their MyPicturehouse account as their “Home Cinema” or “Favourite Cinema” at 23.59 on 22 April 2024, and did not advise Picturehouse Cinemas of their wish to opt-out of the transfer of their membership to The Ashford Cinema prior to this time and date. 

On transfer of the Picturehouse Membership to The Ashford Cinema, the membership will change to a Legacy Membership and will be provided by The Ashford Cinema, in place of Picturehouse Cinemas Limited, on the T&Cs below.

Memberships and their associated benefits last for 12 full calendar months from the date of original purchase (from Ashford Picturehouse) (membership period). At the end of the membership period, unused free tickets cannot be carried over and any unused free tickets will automatically expire and no refunds will be provided. The Ashford Cinema Legacy Membership will be unavailable to renew once it has reached the end of its term. Legacy Members are not able to cancel their membership, or receive a refund, prior to the end of its term.

The Ashford Cinema reserves the right to withdraw your Legacy Membership if, in our reasonable opinion, you:

The Ashford Cinema: Terms of Admission

Ashford Cinema Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15473154. Ashford Cinema Ltd. is referred to as “we”, “us” and “our” in these terms & conditions (the “T&Cs”).

These Terms of Admission, as may be from time to time amended, set out the general terms which apply to you. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.


Entry to films and events is restricted by the age classification given by the British Board of Film Classification or others”.

We reserve the right to require you to prove your age with appropriate photographic ID if you are going to a 12A, 15 or 18 film or purchasing an alcoholic drink. If you are unable to prove your age you will not be able to watch the film or buy an alcoholic drink. We may ask for such proof at any time you are on our premises. Acceptable forms of ID include Passports, Driving Licences and ID cards which contain the PASS hologram, digital photographic ID displayed through the YOTI app and other forms of local ID cards that contain both a photograph and a verified date of birth. Birth certificate will only be accepted if accompanied by a form of photographic identification connecting the name on the birth certificate to the customer. Photocopies or photographs of ID will not be accepted. If you buy a ticket before we know its classification and you are not old enough to be admitted to the screening, we will issue you with a full refund.


No hot food or alcohol from outside the premises is permitted in the cinema building.

You must observe the licensing regulations at the cinema concerning the sale and consumption of alcoholic drinks. You must not take untoughened glass into the auditorium.

You must not smoke inside any of our premises. E-cigarettes cannot be used anywhere in our cinemas, the same as normal cigarettes.


The free tickets issued to Legacy Members can only be used for films and not for premium-priced events (unless otherwise notified).


Mobile phones must be switched off or in silent mode before you enter the auditorium. You must not use phones inside the auditorium during the screening.


To avoid disturbing customers who arrive on time, customers arriving after the film has started may be refused admission to the performance. Refunds will not be issued by us in these circumstances.


You must adhere to any health and safety procedures or instructions that are in place and notified to you by our staff or by notices.


It is a serious criminal offence to copy or attempt to copy any film or other copyright material exhibited in any part of the cinema, punishable on conviction with an unlimited fine and imprisonment of up to a maximum of ten years. You are not permitted to bring cameras and/or recording equipment of any kind into the cinema.


As a courtesy to your fellow audience members, and to prevent film theft, we ask that customers do not enter any cinema auditorium using any 'wearable technology' capable of recording images. Any customer found wearing such technology will be asked to remove it and may be asked to leave the cinema.


We endeavour to show films in accordance with the programme that we advertise. However, there may be circumstances in which we are unable to comply with the advertised programme and in such cases, our liability to you is limited to a full refund of the tickets purchased. We are unable to take responsibility for programme information advertised by third parties.


Tickets can be exchanged (minus any booking fees paid) using your online account up to 2 hours before the showtime. Tickets will not be refunded if less than 2 hours’ notice is given.

Full refunds for premium-priced events (minus any booking fees paid) will not be given unless 2 hours’ notice is given. We do not accept requests for refunds by email. 


We reserve the right to ask for proof of status for concessionary tickets at any time that you are on our premises.


You must not purchase tickets except for personal use, and you represent and warrant that tickets are not purchased as part of any form of a for-profit business or commercial activity unless we have expressly authorised otherwise in writing.


We accept no responsibility for any personal property that is brought to a cinema.


You must comply with the conditions on our Licences as notified to you by our staff or by notices.

We reserve the right to refuse admission or require you to leave the premises without a refund if you:

The Terms in this section set out the legally binding terms which apply to everyone who accesses or uses the Website. By accessing or using the Website you agree to be bound by these Website Terms. If you do not wish to be bound by these Website Terms you must leave the Website immediately, or not enter it at all.


The Website is provided free of charge, and we make no guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. In addition, we reserve the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, all or any part of the Website without notice and without liability.


The Website and the materials on it are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property rights and laws throughout the world. The materials on the Website are owned by or licensed to us and may not be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted or distributed in any way without our consent. Modification of the materials or use of the materials for any other purposes is a violation of the copyrights and other proprietary rights.


The Website contains links to another website which are not controlled by us. The fact that we may provide a link to any such website does not mean that we endorse that website. Such links are only provided for your convenience, and you access them at your own risk.


Tickets for films and events at our cinemas are sold by us at the prices displayed for the relevant performance and the amount payable for them will be debited immediately from your credit or debit card. By requesting tickets through the Website, you are placing a booking request for them on these Terms which is only accepted and binding on us once we have debited your card.


A confirmation booking reference will be displayed on your screen and emailed to you.

The email confirmation of your booking will set out the details of the cinema tickets purchased, and the total amounts paid for your tickets and other items. 


In the case of tickets being offered for sale at the wrong price online (i.e. at a higher or lower price than is applicable at the Box Office) we reserve the right to insist that the tickets are refunded, and the correct prices charged.


You can collect your tickets from any point of sale in the cinema any time from when the booking is made until the start of the performance. You will need to bring either the card you paid with or a note of the booking reference to collect your tickets.


Concessionary and children's tickets are offered for sale on the Website. In accordance with our General Terms, you must bring proof of status or age with you to the cinema to collect the tickets and to gain admission to the performance.


Bookings made on the Website are encrypted for security. However, you acknowledge that the Internet is not entirely secure and whilst we will take reasonable steps to safeguard the security of any card information you impart, we shall not be liable for any damage you may suffer because of the loss of confidentiality of any such information.


Members must enter their details at the time of purchasing to claim any discount, including discounts on the Card Booking Fee. It is not possible to amend the booking once it has been completed.


Transactions will appear on your card/bank statement as a payment to www.theashfordcinema.co.uk.


A Booking Fee of 95p per ticket will be payable separately by you to Ashford Cinema Ltd. for tickets purchased outside of the cinema, for example, online through our website. By confirming your booking, you are agreeing to pay this Booking Fee in addition to the price you pay to us for your cinema ticket. Booking Fees do not apply to tickets purchased at the cinema.


Once a booking is confirmed the Booking Fee is non-refundable.


This agreement shall be governed by, construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of England. Any action you or we bring to enforce this agreement shall only be brought in the courts of England and you expressly consent to the jurisdiction of said courts. If any provision of this agreement shall be unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable then that provision shall be deemed severable from this agreement and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.

The Family Ticket
The Family Ticket is for mixed groups of adults and children. Children must be under 14 to apply. Tickets can be purchased as:

Parent & Baby


Cinemini
Cinemini screenings are for children aged 5 and under. Adults must be accompanied by a child to enter the screening. Weekday Cinemini screenings are approximately 30 minutes in length (excluding ads & trailers) and adults go free.


Magic Mondays
Discounted ticket prices available all day, every Monday. Offer excludes event cinema, 3D screenings, and live events. Offer excludes bank holidays. Booking fee applies for online purchases.


Parking
Customers of The Ashford Cinema are eligible to receive a code for 4 hours of free parking at Elwick Road Car Park. To redeem the offer, customers must purchase an item (ticket, food, drink, etc.) at The Ashford Cinema. The code must be entered into the parking machine on exit. The Ashford Cinema is not responsible for the management of the car park and cannot take responsibility for your vehicle or any items within it. The Ashford Cinema is not responsible for any fines, or any additional payments, you may incur during your visit. Vehicles are left at your own risk.
